Fawlty Towers
Just noticed on the BBC News website that a poll carried out by BBC Worldwide has voted Fawlty Towers the best sitcom. Surprisingly many of the voters were German!!

Alongside other post-war classics like ‘Dad’s Army’ I would definitely rank it top of my list but I also feel a certain sense of sadness when watching the classic episodes today knowing that nothing like it could never me made again in our modern age of ridiculous political correctness. They just don’t make them like they used to – luckily 1984 hasn’t caught up with us just yet and we are still free to enjoy them!
As a side note I have sometimes been likened to Basil Fawlty in times of stress by certain members of my family but I can’t for the life of me work out why!
